This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit this marketing website. It applies solely to the website habitbuddy.ch – the HabitBuddy app has its own privacy policy (page “App privacy”). The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) governs.

What personal data we process
Our website is a static site without user accounts, analytics services or contact forms. Only limited data is processed: • Server log files: when you access the site, your browser transmits technically necessary data (IP address, date/time, page requested, referrer, browser and operating system). • Contact by email: if you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message. • App download: downloading the offered Android file (APK) is recorded in the log file like any other page request. We do not process special categories of personal data (e.g. health or location data) via the website.
Purposes of processing
We process this data only to provide the website and keep it secure and stable, to enable the app download, and to respond to your enquiries.
Hosting and server log files
The website is delivered as a static site via GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. (Microsoft group), based in the USA. The provider processes the technical connection data in order to deliver the site and ensure its operation and security. See the section on disclosure abroad.
Getting in touch
You will find an email address on the website for getting in touch; we do not use a contact form. We use your details only to answer your enquiry. Our mailbox is hosted on a self-operated server in Switzerland and is not routed through a large commercial provider.
Cookies and comparable technologies
Our website does not set any cookies for analytics or marketing purposes and does not use comparable tracking technologies. There is therefore no cookie banner and no consent requirement.
Analytics and tracking
We do not use any web analytics, statistics or marketing tracking services. No usage profiles are created.
Fonts and content
The fonts used are served locally from our server. As a result, no connection to third parties such as Google Fonts is established when the page loads. Images, graphics and the 3D model are also loaded from the delivering server and not fetched from third parties.
External services and links
The website may contain links to external offerings, such as social media profiles. Only when you click such a link do you leave our website; merely visiting our site transmits no data to these providers. We do not use embedded third-party services that would transmit data as soon as the page loads. The app is offered as a direct download file from this website, not via an app store.
Disclosure of personal data abroad
Because the website is delivered via GitHub Pages (USA), the technical connection data arising when the page is accessed is disclosed to the USA. No further active disclosure to third parties abroad takes place. GitHub, Inc. is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the Swiss Federal Council recognises as providing adequate protection for data disclosures to the USA.
Retention and deletion
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the stated purposes or required by law; it is then deleted or anonymised. Server log files are processed only for the operation and security of the website. We keep email correspondence until your enquiry has been dealt with, unless evidentiary purposes require longer retention.
Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. However, absolute protection during data transmission over the internet is not possible.
Rights of data subjects
Under Swiss data protection law you have, in particular, the right to information, to rectification of inaccurate data, and to deletion or destruction, unless a statutory retention obligation or an overriding interest applies. A message to info@habitbuddy.ch is sufficient; we may request additional details to verify your identity. You may also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If you use the HabitBuddy app, you can delete your app account and all associated data at any time — directly in the app or via our account-deletion page.
Minors
Our website is aimed at a general audience and not specifically at children. We do not knowingly collect data from minors via the website.
Note on the EU GDPR
This policy is aligned with Swiss law. The EU General Data Protection Regulation may additionally apply if the offering is specifically directed at persons in the EU. In that case, additional information obligations apply.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may amend this privacy policy, for example when the technology or the legal framework changes. The version published on this website at the given time applies.
