Delete your account
How to permanently delete your HabitBuddy account and all data linked to it — from inside the app, or by request if you no longer have it installed. This applies to the HabitBuddy app account.

Delete in the app
1. Open the app and go to the “Me” tab (bottom right). 2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap “Delete account”. 3. Read the warning and confirm with “Delete permanently”. Your account and the data listed below are deleted immediately. You are signed out and returned to the app's start screen. This cannot be undone.
Delete without the app
If you can no longer open the app, send an email from the address linked to your account to info@habitbuddy.ch with the subject “Delete my account”. We will verify the request and delete the account and all associated data. You do not need the app installed to make this request.
What data is deleted
The following is permanently and irreversibly deleted: • Your profile and login identity (username, name, email address). • Your habits, tasks and their entire completion history. • Your streaks and statistics. • Your buddy and any items you own. • Your coin balance and transaction history. • Your follow relationships (followers and following). • Every social interaction you sent or received (nudges, high-fives) and all of your activity-feed entries. Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered.
What is retained, and for how long
After deletion we keep no personal data linked to your account. Purely technical server logs, which do not by themselves identify you, are kept only briefly for the security and operation of the service. Where the law requires us to keep specific records (for example accounting evidence relating to a purchase), we retain only those records for the statutory period and delete them once it expires.
How long deletion takes
Deletion via the app takes effect immediately. Deletion requested by email is completed within 30 days at the latest, and usually much sooner.
